Museums like the Custom House Martime Museum and the Museum of Old Newbury detail the rich history of our area with a wide variety of lectures, exhibits add events.

A cornerstone of our vibrant visual arts scene is the Newburyport Art Association. Founded in 1948, the NAA has over 500 members and a full calendar of exhibits and community outreach programs. The performing arts flourish at the Firehouse Center for the Arts, housed in a converted firehouse. With high-quality and diverse programming in an intimate venue, you'll find a wide range of performances to fuel your passion for the arts.

EVENTS AND FESTIVALS
For the book lover, be sure to check out the Newburyport Literary Festival, a celebration of literature, readers, writers attracts renown writers from around the country. The Newburyport Documentary Film Festival shares thoughtful film making with residents of Newburyport and beyond.
Other unique events include the Yankee Homecoming celebration with a week of programming including concerts, parades, bed races and more. Downtown businesses celebrate throughout the year with events such as Trick-or-Treating, Witches Night Out and Invitation Night. Don't miss Santa's arrival via boat at the annual Santa Parade.
