Greater Newburyport Trick-or-Treat Schedules

  • The official trick-or-treating hours the Greater Newburyport area including Amesbury, Newburyare typically 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on October 31. Official hours have not yet been posted by most towns. The city requests that participating homes turn on outdoor lights during that window to signal they’re welcoming costumed visitors. cityofnewburyport.com

Downtown Newburyport Trick-or-Treat (Shops & Businesses)

  • Before Halloween night, the Greater Newburyport Chamber hosts a Downtown Trick-or-Treat event, where merchants in downtown Newburyport and the Tannery participate by handing out candy between about 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm on Friday, October 24. City Hall Trick-or-Treat

  • Another fun, family-friendly event: on Thursday, October 26, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm, City Hall (60 Pleasant Street) invites children to trick or treat with local officials and staff. cityofnewburyport.com

Salisbury’s Trunk or Treat

  • Thursday, October 23rd from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Broadway / Salisbury Beach! Community members, businesses, and organizations are invited to decorate their vehicles and hand out treats and swag to the kiddos as they trick-or-treat from trunk to trunk around the parking lot. This event is a PERECT opportunity to show your community just how awesome you are!

Maudslay is Haunted

  • At Maudslay State Park, Theater in the Open puts on a spooky trail walk with playful—but still spooky—vignettes for all ages. October 18 & 19 (with a rain date) Theater in the Open, ~$10 per person, free for young children; parking fee applies. 

Halloween Hauntings – Museum of Old Newbury

  • At Oak Hill Cemetery, enjoy hayride tours, costume contests, tarot readings, live music, photo ops, and more. Museum of Old Newbury

Witches’ Night Out

  • On Friday, October 17, 2025 (6:00–9:00 pm), downtown Newburyport and the Tannery host “Witches’ Night Out”—shops stay open late, offer specials, and the streets come alive with costumes and festive vibes. 

Sweet Halloween at Cider Hill Farm: A family-friendly, not-so-spooky trick-or-treating experience with sweet treats and fall foliage. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the following dates:

    • Saturday, October 18
    • Sunday, October 19
    • Saturday, October 25
    • Sunday, October 26

Cider & Bites: A Grown Up Trick-or-Treat: Cider Hill Farm will also host an adults-only event on Saturday, October 18, from 4 to 6 p.m.
